Britain´s Culture

The United Kingdom is made up of four different countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland each of which have preserved and distinct customs, cultures and symbolism.

The UK flag consists of three elements: the cross of St. George (red on white) for England, the cross of St. Andrew (white diagonal on blue) for Scotland, and the so-called cross of St Patrick (red diagonal on white) for Ireland.

The United Kingdom is a Monarchy. The Queen of the United Kingdom is called Elizabeth II and Buckingham Palace is her official residence.

London is the Capital of the United Kingdom. The British currency is the pound sterling
